Does too much coffee make you nauseous?

I'm not sure if it's just getting older, but lately about an hour before lunch every few days I get nauseous.  I'm thinking it's my huge Dunkin Donuts coffee I drink in the morning.  No, I'm not pregnant-this has happened the poast couple months.  I'm wondering if anyone else has felt this way.

Re: Does too much coffee make you nauseous?

  • If I've had nothing but coffee for breakfast and I'm hungry and have the shakes, then yes, I'll feel sort of sick.

  •   Coffee robs your body of iron, calcium and other important minerals.  So if you're low any of these, you might get that icky feeling.

I have low iron. Anytime I drink coffee, I get nauseous.

  • I don't get nauseous, but it can make my stomach really crampy.
  • I'm hypoglycemic and when my blood sugar gets low, I get nauseous and cranky and dizzy and lightheaded.  I pretty much go from feeling fine and not hungry at all to feeling like crap in a matter of minutes.

Could you keep something like nuts at your desk (or wherever you are) to snack on when you start feeling nauseous?

  • Nauseous? No. I do feel jittery and shaky (I hate that feeling).
  • Coffee also is highly acidic so it makes your body very acidic if you don't have any other food in there.

  • Thanks, ladies.  I am going to start getting a small coffee from now on :).
  • I agree with everyone else, I get nauseous when I drink a lot without eating any other food.  I get it sometimes when I grab a coffee in the morning intending to eat soon after and then don't get around to doing it.
