yes he was there for 10 days, he had problems with his eating.  he is doing good now.  thanks for replying, i feel confused when reading things b/c i don't know if they apply to "preemies' too or just term babies.  it can be nervewracking....hoping this board is a good place to be

I'm sorry he had a NICU stay. Glad it was relatively short and he is doing well now! This board is a great supportive place to ask questions. You can also check out the private board in my signature that a lot of us preemie moms use to talk about parenting preemies.

A good rule of thumb is to think about your DS's adjusted age: since he was born 5 weeks early, just subtract 5 weeks from his actual age and use that as a general rubric when thinking about his milestones (i.e., on average babies smile at around 2 mo. of age but for your DS, he'll be 2 mo. adjusted age when he's a little over 3 mo.).
