I love the name Leah! It's on my short list. I don't really see it as a popular name though. I think as long as you stay out of the top 5-10, you'll be fine. Leah isn't even close to the top ten.
Married 5/31/08 * TTC#1 9/09 - 2/11 after anovulatory diagnosis and TTC for 1 1/2yrs with several medicated cycles and one chemical pregnancy, we have our first bundle of joy!

I don't take one single minute for granted.
I don't know where the rest of you are getting your data, but Leah is a very popular name and rising every year. According to the SSA, it was #96 in 2000, #68 in 2005, #41 in 2008, and #28 in 2009. That's a sharp rise. Expect its popularity to stay high or rise even more, due to the popular "lee" sound and its prominence in pop culture (Teen Mom). If you want to avoid a popular name, keep looking.
the 3 or 4 Leahs that I know are all adults, but I have heard it making a comeback with little ones lately, mostly online though. I know there is a baby Leah on the mtv teen mom show

This. As a Leah, I can say that the name has never been popular. I only know of 5-6 myself and that includes work connections. I do see it as rising in popularity though.
Um, it's in the top 30. That's too popular to me. My husband wanted this name but relented when I showed him the popularity lists (I've already met three in our baby meet up groups!)
Then again, I chose a name in the mid 200s and I've already met FIVE.
I see the appeal. It's pretty, feminine, easy to say/spell, not to mention the biblical ties.
Leah was my top girl choice. I teach high school and have only one Leah out of 100+ students. I asked her about the spelling and pronunciation of her name. She said people ALWAYS butcher the spelling AND pronunciation. Most common she said was pronouncing it "LAY-uh"
Re: How Popular is Leah?
According to Baby Name Wizard, it peaked in 2004 with 1,153 Leahs per 1 million babies.
It's also No. 41 in the U.S. right now. So...not really all that popular in my opinion.
My Ovulation Chart
This is our top girl name right now.
In my research it doesn't seem to be all that popular. Personally, I only know of 2 women named Leah and they are both adults.
