I'm cheating on my diet but it's worth it

So pain au chocolat is pretty much my favorite food in the world. When I was in high school I went to France with my French class and fell in love with these things.

They make them here-a "chocolate croissant"-but they're not the same and not nearly as good. Since I can't jet off to Paris every weekend I hardly ever have them, but my dad travels internationally for work, and he just got back from France and brought me 4 of them, plus a giant one I ate last night Embarrassed Oh and a monster Toblerone bar. He's killing me.

SO amazingly good I just had to confess that I'm cheating on my diet and I don't care. Some things are worth gaining weight over.

TGIF!

  • I want one now! I'm thinking that I can eat my sorrows away for the day. A chocolate croissant just might do it for me! I'm wondering if I can try and make some at home.....

That would be quite an undertaking! Croissants are hard! I'm sorry about today, I hope you can find a way to treat yourself and feel better Right Hug

  • Thanks. I know I can't eat away my feelings. I've paid the price for that when I get on the scale :( Thankfully, chocolate croissants are not within my grasp at the moment. However, I found one recipe that looks fairly easy.

I'm 100% sure it is NOTHING like the actual French croissants but I'm thinking it might be an edible substitute since I wouldn't mind trying them out.

Btw...your dad is a sweetheart. My dad NEVER brings us back anything from his travels.

Well try that recipe! Even a poor substitute is still delicious! My dad is great, but I also practically begged him to bring me these since he told me he was going.

  • Oh yeah - those are so not primal. But I don't blame you, I'd eat them too! In fact I passed a French bakery on the way home yesterday. I just may have to join you in going against the primal diet.

  • YUM!  I gotta tell you the truth. This week has been horrible for my diet.  I think it started on Tuesday and I haven't stopped.  I've been snacking too much and eating at all times of the day and night.

I really hope the scale doesn't backfire at me tomorrow!

  • I love those, I went to France when I was in high school also. So nice of your dad to bring those back for you.
