H would like one for Christmas, but are they worth the money especially taking into account having to buy the K-Cups? I don't drink coffee, he does very rarely, but says he would drink that over energy drinks if he had one. Would it be just as beneficial to get a cheap coffee pot?
Re: Anyone have a Keurig Coffee Maker?
if he rarely drinks coffee, I would skip it. I would love to have one, but I only drink coffee at home a few times a year (plenty away from home or at work).
Unless he's a real connoisseur, get him some Starbucks Via and call it a day.
This is our situation, pretty much.
If you're serious coffee drinkers, it makes more sense to get a coffee pot and make good coffee. I'm a pretty regular coffee drinker, maybe two cups a day. Sometimes three. But I space them out throughout the day. So, I'd have a cup in the morning and then end up with stale coffee throughout the day. Also, when DD was little and I was nursing, I let myself have one cup of regular and then I'd do decaf the rest of the day. So, I'd have to make one pot of regular. Then another of decaf. Once in a while, DH will have a cup but usually decaf. So, for us, being able to make a single cup at a time was a big convenience.
I've often thought that a french press would work similarly - one cup at a time. But those are such a hassle to clean.
