A local radio station is doing a radio-thon all day today and tomorrow for the Make a Wish Foundation. All these stories about sick kids is so heart wrenching. I can not even imagine going through something like that, and I am amazed at the strength that some of these parents have. I honestly don't know what I'd do if I lost Emma.
Re: Bring on the waterworks...
I couldn't agree more!!! It's just that.... I can't even imagine going through that. The stories are truly inspiring.
My niece Taleah was born with a genetic disorder. I was her nurse from the time she was 6 months on. She was granted a make a wish trip 2 weeks before she passed away. Make a wish still took my sister's family and me to Disneyworld. They said that it would be unfair to the 3 other kids if they didn't get to go.
There was an amazing amount of healing that happened on that trip. I will never forget going in to the princess room with my sister and 6 year old niece. They closed off the room and let us just cry for about 30 minutes while my niece talked to each and every princess.
I always donate and I appreciate all of you that do as well.
