She has been going to the bathroom every hour on the hour...this has never happened before - no sign of fever. IDK, should I scramble for a sitter? Help!
I'm not a nurse, but I used to work in a nursing home. It was really common for them to get UTIs easily. Sometimes it's hard to tell if they are more confused than usual when they already have Alzheimer's, but that's another sign of a UTI. They won't always have a fever with it. You didn't mention where she is, but is there anyway she could be checked for a UTI?
So sorry about your grandmother. Can you call her doctor to see what they say about going to the bathroom? Sounds like she should be tested for a UTI or something, which can be bad in an elderly person. GL!
I'm assuming she's urinating every hour? Not normal. If its a UTI or bladder infection you dont always run a fever at first, if it progresses you can see fever. Can she tell you if it hurts when she pees? Does she wear Depends in case of accidents? The urine will have a foul odor to it if its an infection, so if she has a depends on you would smell it. I know, urine never smells great, but when there's an infection it is strong, pungent and foul. I would say try to get her into the doc.

She's in a nursing facility now...
There has been decreased activity for a while a few days, and the nurse just called to tell us.
Please pray her.
Has she been recently put on new meds? My friend's mom who has this desease was on something new and it caused the runs non stop.
Eta: I misunderstood the nature of your post. I hope she is ok.
Can you insist she be tested for a UTI? I would. Like I said, I've worked in a nursing home and things get overlooked.
