Crazy thing my OB told me

I had my 6 week pp visit yesterday and the OB asks me, "So do you have any regrets about having your tubes tied?" And I said, "Oh no, I am very happy with the decision." Her response? "You will one day."

WHAT Gee thanks! I just laughed it off and said like 3 kids was plenty. But gees, who says that? I should have broken down in tears and said, "You are right- I regret it and you knew I would- I am suing you!"

That is a strange thing to say. ?It is one thing to ask about any regrets you may have, but a completely other thing for her to voice her own beliefs like that. ?At least you were confident in your decision, so what she said didn't get to you!?

That is an odd thing to say.  Sounds like she regrets it but not everyone will.  She needs to think before speaking.

Is it still reversible at 6 wks pp?  I know a friend of mine had it done and she had to be on BCP for the first 2 months after it was done as back-up.  Was she trying to say "It's now or never to undo it?"  If not, totally inappropriate!!

Given my health history, my doctor has encouraged me to get my tubes tied.  I'm still wavering on it, but I have a few years to decide.  I can't believe your doctor said that!

No she was not trying to see if I want it reversed, she just really thought all along that I shouldn't do it and I practically had to twist her arm to even discuss it! But I am so glad that it is done! Definitely no regrets here

Yes, very wrong of her to say.  But can't you get it reversed even after several years?  Saying because my mums were tied for about 18 years before having me and my sister. IDK maybe it's different now?

Yes it can be reversed but it is not 100% effective. My OB said that if I don't have it reversed, I will end up doing IVF again (like with the twins). I am glad she thinks I have all this money for expensive IVF cycles and tons of kids!
