How are you budgeting while TTC. We are have been talking about when to draw the line with TTC and moving on to adoption and it is partially based on $$. We know adoption (newborn domestic through an agency) will cost up to $40K, and if this cycle doesn't work we will need to move onto IVF with PGD, which will cost us around $15K. How are you factoring your budget into TTC?
If it were up to MH we would keep trying until our savings runs out, but I just need to set a "limit".

Re: Budget and TTC??
Thankfully, DH and I both have IF coverage. Each of us has 6 IUIs and $10k that can be put towards IVF/FET. Still have to do co-pays, which ends up running about $200-$500 each cycle, but we can thankfully weather that cost, as it could be a lot worse.
But, once the IF coverage runs out, then we'll look towards adoption. It would cost the same to do 2 IVFs or 1 infant/under the age of 2 adoption. At least with the adoption, we know that we'll bring a child home. The IVFs don't have that insurance.
Plus, since my eggs are crap, I know I'm not going to be a super producer of eggs. My body said "whatevs" to 300iu of Follistim, so my drug needs (if OOP) will up the cost of our IVF significantly. I don't think we would do it if we didn't have coverage.

I am the wrong person to ask since clearly I am struggling with this question right now. If I was able to utilize our full income I would say we would probably limit ourselves to 1 IVF since we already have a child and it is cheaper than adoption. At least then I could say that I had tried everything but still preserve some sort of financial stability for my family.
I am sure if we didn't have a child my answer would be like your DH's...we keep trying until we get a baby or go broke. I think this is one of those things that warrants that, but that is just me. I hope you don't have to make that choice. ((hugs))
