Cloth Diapering

Is there a reason I can't find Thirsties Fab Fitted diapers?

I have some Thirsties diaper covers, and I want to try an alternative to prefolds.  I saw Thirsties fab fitted diapers and they look nice, so I'm trying to find a small one.  NOBODY sells them! I can only find them in large, and DD is only about 13-14 pounds, so we're months away from using the large.  Do they suck?  Is that why nobody's selling them?  Is there another kind of velcro-type insert that can be used with a diaper cover?

  • They are discontinued.  They are redesigning them and are supposed to launch them early next year.  They worked great for us in the NB stage, but now she pees through in a matter of minutes.

Thanks!  So you wouldn't recommend them (assuming they're not making changes to their absorbency)?

Not for an older baby.  They just are not absorbent enough. I am holding on to my smalls for the next child because they seem to work for smaller babies.  I recommend Monkey Snuggles or Goodmama fitteds, but they are snaps.

  • Crap - I just bought some large ones on sale. I guess I will have to make and use a bunch of super absorbent inserts!

  • I'm still using them on my 9-month-old and they work fine as long as I put some extra layers inside the diaper. She's in a M and transitioning into a L.

  • I liked my little lions fitteds I had and used when DS was 2-9 months old.  They are velcro.  They are reasonably priced too.  Absorbency is good for a daytime diaper.  They felt pretty wet against his skin, but he never seemed to mind.

  • I have a few of them that I got on clearance when they were getting rid of the old design. I agree that they don't absorb enough as a AIO, but they've worked fine for me as a daytime diaper when I added a hemp insert into the pocket behind the sewn in soaker.
