Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

I hate being at work today.

And every other day that I have to be here.  DD has been such a love lately, and is so excited by everything.  Meanwhile, here I sit, at the office, while a crazy lady in a showercap is pounding on our office window.  We don't open for 30 more minutes, and our office hours are clearly posted.  (I work at a psychiatric clinic).

Re: I hate being at work today.

  • I hear ya!  DS has been sick for a week now and lately he's been crying when I leave in the morning...it kills me.

  • Oyy.  That stinks.  The mornings where he is whining and crying, I don't feel so badly about working, but on days like you are describing, I just want to stay home and play with him all day. Boo. Sad

  • I'm right there with you, I miss my baby every moment that I'm away.  I'm stuck in cubicle land all day, sums up why I'm on the Bump all the time....I'm bored out of my mind and need to talk with people because this job is isolating.
  • Eeek that sounds quite interesting!  I wanted to say "Watch out for the crazies..." but didn't think that was PC given your employer! Wink

I hate being at work today too but that is mainly because I am sick and have been taking care of a sick DH and DD for about a week and I feel just terrible and now really can't be off work because I had to take off to stay with DD.  Ugh....and DH is staying home from work today so he is sleeping and I am stuck here with no motivation to get my projects done today.  YUCK!

  • OP, we are so much alike!  You are one of the few moms on here that hates work as much as I do...  I work in a hospital and it is just craziness all the time.  Whenever I'm stuck doing something heinous there, which is pretty much all the time, all I can think about is that I'm stuck doing 'this' instead of having a great time at home with DS.  Even if I had a job I loved, I would still hate being away from DS, but couple my hatred of my job with how much I miss LO, and my days at work are just about unbearable.  But every time I read one of your posts about how much you also hate working, I always feel a little better.  Always good to know you're not alone : )

Aw, thanks:)   It's not like I don't realize that SAH is work too, it's just that it's work I much prefer.  I already have to do all of the housework (I have unreasonable standards, so it's my issue, not DH being lazy:),  and I actually don't mind playing on the floor with DD all day, or running up and down stairs, or whatever she wants to do.  She naps at least 2 hours of the day, and I've never had a job where I get 2 hours to myself!  I can't leave my office for lunch break, so while I'm on the computer a lot, it's not 'me' time, and I rarely want to be online while I'm home.  It doesn't help that all of my friends either SAH, or only work part-time.  ::sigh::.  Sorry to unload all of this...It does help to know I'm not alone:)

Oh, and you've got to love healthcare jobs! Changing baby diapers is a breeze after my years as an inpatient geriatric nurse:)
