What kind of prenatal vitamins?

What brand of vitamins is everyone taking? I'm taking Stuart prenatal, the OTC ones, not the prescriptions.  Stuart also makes a prescription one. My doctor told me they could call some in for me before my first appt but i don't know if it is worth it. I might just wait. Oh, and i'm taking a prenatal DHA pill.

Re: What kind of prenatal vitamins?

  • I am taking Spring Valley prenatal vitamin and DHA.  I have had problems in the past with multi vitamins making me feel icky but so far these haven't been a problem.

  • I'm taking the gummies from Target.  They are tasty.

  • I'm taking the "Preferred" brand.  It's a no-name brand, however it is exactly the same as Materna, but half the price - can't argue with that!

  • I have been using the Target Up&Up Brand forever..... they are cheap and I have had no problems with them :)
  • Just a generic grocery store brand. My OB gave me a prescription with my last pregnancy, but the gel caps were huge and smelled bad.  I couldn't make myself swallow them, so I stuck with the OTC brand.

I've found taking them at night is a ton easier. I took them in the morning last time and I gagged so hard every time. Ugh.

  • I take the Theralogix Theranatal brand PNVs and an algae-based DHA (no fishy smell). The PNVs are $15 for a 3 month supply, and they taste like vanilla

  • I'm taking Vitofol OB+DHA - it's prescription and not cheap but it's worth it.

    Me too!

When i went to the Dr for my confirmation test they asked if i wanted a prescription for prenatals but i turned them down.  I take my gummies every day, and i barely can swallow those horsepills.  She didn't seem too upset that I decided to go that way either...

    Those gummies are the best!

  • I'm taking the one-a-day prenatal vitamins with DHA supplementation - they're not too big and my stomach has been ok with them... but i do take them at night.
