What do you know about Evenflo and Cosco convertible

car seats?

We need a new car seat for DD for MH's car - it's not our main car so she doesn't ride it in often, and it's always for short-distances.  We need something inexpensive since we have another on the way.

We're considering this https://www.amazon.com/Cosco-Scenera-Convertible-Seat-Triton/dp/B001J8DNM4/ref=sr_1_13?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1291748899&sr=1-13

and this https://www.amazon.com/Evenflo-Tribute-Convertible-Seat-Abby/dp/B001H0GEXO/ref=sr_1_15?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1291748899&sr=1-15

  • The Cosco Scenera is a seat I recommend a lot. It's a great choice. They have a version at Target that RF to 40 lbs, so if you can get that, I would (it's about $50).

  • My parents have the Cosco Scenera in their car. ?It is very sturdy, easy to install and DS has fallen asleep in it many times! ?It is just not quite as cushy as the more expensive seats, but it is a great seat. ?I would recommend it!
  • We have an evenflo triumph and love it, however the cosco is just as good and $100 less.
  • The reviews say the Cosco doesn't have much padding, and the picture doesn't show a head rest?!  I don't like that.
  • We bought the Scenera for my parents for their vehicle and DD has been in it probably 5 or 6 times now and it's a great seat.  DD seems comfortable and it is very easy to get her in and out of.

    I'd recommend it to anyone.

No, it's not as padded as more expensive seats, but that doesnt actually seem to bother most kids. I'm not sure what you mean by head rest? Like I said before, it's a great seat.

If you're looking for a bit more padding and extra features, you'll have to spend more. If you want to spend about $150, you might like the Evenflo Triumph65.
