Covers and NB stash questions

I have 12 BG xs and I'm thinking of buying 24 GMD orange prefolds. How many covers do you think I'll need? I was thinking 4-6 but I'm not sure. Is this enough for a NB stash?

Should I get Thirsties Duo sz 1 or Thirsties xs or some of each? What about aplix vs snaps on the duo? Should I get some Thirsties and some Bummis Super Brite? I know a lot of it is a matter of preference but WWYD?

Depending on how they work w/ DS I'm hoping to use mostly BG 4.0 OS after the newborn stage. Sorry for all the questions, I feel like I've been researching forever! Thanks so much for any help

I can tell you what I had. I had 5 covers for my 24 prefolds and it was enough. Some were thirsties xs.. not sure how it compares to the duo size 1 snapped down?

I had the duo size 1 and they fit for quite a long time. I definitely recommend aplix for the newborn phase because you can get a better, more adjustable fit with it. Some people prefer snaps for an older baby who knows how to remove aplix but for newborn phase, definitely go aplix!

duo size one, baby! I've been using them with prefolds on LO since birth and I love them. She's tall and skinny and I think I'll probably get another month or two out of them, and we almost never get leaks.

I would mix it up with snaps and aplix. I prefer aplix since it's quicker and easier to get an exact fit, especially when she's small. those first few weeks, it's impossible to get the snaps tight enough. but snaps have their virtues later on.

I have some xs thirsties,imse vimse and bummis. i love the thirsties and bummis. I agree aplix is best
