Went to the GI specialist and may have answers!

YAY!!! Had our appointment with the GI specialist last week. It went SOOO well. It was so nice to go into an appointment and have someone ask you "start at the beinging and tell me EVERYTHING" and actually listen to everything we were saying. She really believes that he doesn't have a full blown dairy allergy, but more of a dairy/cows milk sensitivity. One that about 90%+ babies grow out of by about 10-12 months. Hooray for that bit of hopeful news. The only thing is she wants us to try switching to Soy instead of the Nutramigen (another somewhat yay, because spending $60+ a week on formula is starting to sting a little). We are in the process of doing that now, very slowly, since I guess about half of people with cows milk sensitivities can't handle soy either. But we will give it a shot. She also gave us the go ahead for solids, just to avoid rice cereal because it won't help his constipation problems. So, we started oatmeal before the soy transition and he LOVES it. He was more than ready for solids, poor guy. Plus he is sleeping better through the night since he is probably a lot fuller from the oatmeal addition! The GI specialist wants us to just follow up with her as needed and just leave her periodic messages for the next month if things seem to be going well.

Ok, that was longer than I planned. Thanks for all your advice on this before. We are definitely happy to start resolving his issues and moving forward.
