I had a headache yesterday and took 2 advil and now I'm seeing that's bad.  I so rarely take any meds that I didn't really think about it (maybe 3-4 times a year).  I'm not really one to worry about things and I feel like most guidelines are huge over-reactions, but is this an actual issue?

well you can't untake it, so there's no sense in worrying about it

it seems like most of the actual risks ive read about are associated with third trimester, so I'm sure you're fine. Just stick to tylenol from now unless your doc says otherwise.

My OB said it was okay to take when I was pregnant with DS.  She said to stop by the end of 2nd tri because there's a risk of bleeding in 3rd tri

My doctor said tylenol only, the specialist dealing with my fibroids case mentioned that it was okay to take small doses of ibuprofin (I think this is what advil mostly is?) during the second trimester only. As PP said, no sense worrying about it since you can't untake it but I would stick with the doctors list from now on.
