Hi Ladies
DH and I are NOT agreeing on names for our DS... we both come from Italian families and so we would like to (but are not limiting ourselves to) give our son an Italian name that will not be massacred in the English language.... anyone have any suggestions? "Non-italian" welcome too!! TIA!!!

I'm not Italian, but DH is (a little) and I LOVE Italian names.
My favorite Italian boys' name is Carmine. But I also really like Vito, Angelo, Silvio (I love the NN Sil for a boy), Salvatore (one of our MN options, actually...I'm also a big fan of Sal as a NN for a boy), Dominico, Frederico, Gianni, Giovanni.
You might also consider Michael, Anthony, or Paul---all English, but popular in Italian-American culture.
Here is my family tree..
Antonio (uncle)
Enrico (maternal grandpa)
Angelo (uncle and cousin)
Dominic (cousin)
Mario (cousin)
Gianni (my cousin's son)
Giuseppe (my paternal Great Grandpa)
Giovanni (my paternal Grandpa)
Anthony (my brother)
Giobatto (my maternal Great Grandpa)
Roberto (second cousin)
GL Italian names are hard for me because I want something original and like you said something that won't get butchered in pronunciation!
My favorite boys' names are Carlo and Americo.
For girls, I like Francesca (and Pasqualina, obviously, but that's a family name).
Baby Name Popularity by State
Love the name Carlo
Also like Anthony and Vincent
