Does LO wake up @ the same time no matter what bedtime was?

Our schedule has always been a little strange in that a least a couple times a week she can't go to bed until after 10pm because we're not at home.

For the longest time, she would always do 12 hour stretches no matter what time she went to bed - 9am-9pm or 11pm to 11am. It was great!

Now, suddenly she has developed an exact wake-up time (about 8:15am). It doesn't seem to be affected by what time she goes to bed.

It's frustrating since she's not getting as much as sleep as she used to plus my big, pregnant self is usually still wanting to sleep at 8am ;-P

Any thoughts? It's not sunlight because she was blackout drapes and her diapers seem to be doing fine so I can't figure out what's waking her.

  • We can put our boys to bed any time between 7:30 pm and 9:00 pm and they still wake up at the same time--3:00 am!

I have no idea how to make it stop.

  • DD1 absolutely. Ugh, Saturday night she wasn't feeling well and didn't go to sleep until 12:30. She still woke up right at 8 on the dot!

DD2 will still sleep her 12 hour stretches. I hope it lasts for a while still ;)

I want to say DD1 started this around the time she switched to a big girl bed, so around 2y4mo...

  • Yeah, pretty much no matter what time DD goes down, she gets up at about 6:45..
  • yes - No matter what time she goes down she is up about 9:00 - I am the same way.. I wake up at 4:30am for work.... the weekends I stay up late and 4:30 I'm awake!  I get so mad that I finially get out of bed around 5:00 - at least I get all my laundry done, I even have time to work on my knitting!

We used to have to wake DD at 7:00 - now she sleeps until 9... it's nice!

  • YES no matter what time he goes to sleep, he is up around 6:45-7. Sometimes he'll take a longer nap the next day to make up for it, but not always. I always hope he'll sleep in to make up for it, but it never happens!
  • Yes, she always wakes up between 7:00 and 7:30..... too early for me! lol
  • yes, DD always seems to wake up between 830 and 9am no matter what time she goes to bed. last night we had my nephews birthday party so she wasn't in bed until 930 and didn't fall asleep until 945, but still woke at 845. she is a freaking bear today. she needs at least 12 hours at night, because her naps are craptastic (always have been).
  • Religiously. Our DS can go to bed anytime from 8 to 9, usually closer to 8 and he is up every day at 6. Now during the week that is fine but on weekends and on vacations its no fun. For some reason on weekends it can be as early as 530....its like he know something...lol.

  • Yes!  We can put him to bed hours later and he still gets up around the same time every day.  At least he is punctual, I guess!

  • Yup, DS has a pretty solid wake-up time.  7:45-8:15 regardless of bedtime.  We get an occassional 6:30 or 9:00am sort of day ... but very rarely, and never related to his bedtime.

  • she wakes up no matter what around 6-6:30.

Even when she went to bed at 9:45 PM (had a late nap and was sick) I thought she would definitely sleep until 8am but she was wide awake at 6am.
