The tree is up

DH and I put up the tree last night.  I was curious to see what the girls would do when they saw it.  Only Lauryn saw it this morning (ava was upstairs with DH).  At first she didnt seem to care but then she got closer to it and then bent down and looked under it.  We dont have any ornaments on it or presents under it, as we also celebrate hanukkah so they got most of their gifts.  But she looked under, saw nothing and kept right on going.  Guess it isnt a big deal to her.

Re: The tree is up

  • Luke has completely ignored it!  Which I'm totally fascinated by!  I thought for sure he would be all over that sucker.  I'm sooo hoping that attitude continues.

  • Ours went up Friday night.  We have a pre-lit tree, which is nice because they can't pull the strings of lights down.  I only put the angel on it because I don't want them messing with the ornaments, and they're very much at that "I'll do it because you tell me not to" stage and I'm afraid they might break/step on/eat/hide all of my ornaments.

The plugged in tree looks really pretty.

This is our first fake tree.  And it is pre lit.  We didnt put up any other decorations in the house because everything is at their level and would definitley be coming down.  They dont even know it is Hanukkah because I just light the electric menorah and that is all.

  • Ours is up too.. she has ignored it for the post part.  She points really closely at the lights and says "pity"  Pretty -

  • we put up our tree this weekend. we thought DD would love it, with all the lights and everything. yeah, we were wrong. she looks at it for a second, then goes after the cat. last year she loved the lights. hopefully she'll get excited when there are presents there.

  • we will put ours up this weekend (real tree)...our dcp has had hers up since after thanksgiving and after the first day (of non-stop trying to touch) they stop and stare just every once in a while and say "pretty" and if they go toward it dcp says "no touch" and they go back to playing...I am hoping they do as well with ours...
