1st appointment??

This is my first pregnancy so Im pretty new at all of this. I just found out 2 days ago that Im pregnant by HPT. My family has a history of miscarriages, how soon would I need to make my appointment? I think Im about 5 or 6 weeks now. Please help

you can call your doc and make an appt now, but they probably won't see you until you're 8-9 weeks.  they might require you to come in and take a pregnancy test there so they can confirm it before they'll schedule your appt (this is how my doc's office is) or they might just take your word on it.  just depends on your doctor.

I would call the doctor now. I first went into my MD and she confirmed the pregnancy, then recommended me to her OB. When I called the OB they weren't even able to fit me in for a good week or two, so the earlier the better, IMO. Either way, congratulations and I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy!

Each practice is different. Mine has a 6 week apt for blood work, urine, you go over medical history and fill out forms, discuss insurance, costs, etc. Then they have you come back at 9 weeks for an u/s. Call your OB this morning and let them know you got a positive test. Good luck.
