I was wondering if any of you are going to rent a place or have your shower someplace besides your home or someone else's, what locations have you picked out or can you suggest? Do you have a price for the location?
first off, i forgot there was a local board. thank GOD!!!!!
i am renting. we looked and looked at halls blah blah. I am inviting 75+ people between families and friends and being forced to have one LARGE shower due to bedrest, pregnancy complications, oot guests, etc. We found that hotels are a lot cheaper. Find the nicer ones in your area and talk them down. I am doing mine at the end of january and know that they dont have alot going on then so i talked them down from 200, to 100 even for 5 hours of a large conference room. i am pretty crafty and will dress the place up. I found wine shacks and small homey diners will let u rent their small places for the cost of appetizers also! We chose the newest comfort inn in mansfield and it holds 100 people! its extremely nice! good luck!

In my hometown in Florida, I went to several showers at team rooms...and I had my bridal luncheon at one on Ft. Lauderdale, FL I haven't been to any here in Texas, but I know there are several team rooms around. They have great ambience! They usually offer little yummy finger foods which can range from inexpensive to outrageuos, but as long as you negotiate a package up front you can make it work for your budget. It makes for a super cute and memorable event!
