Firstly my baby is very stubborn and was lounging tightly against my uterus and refused to move so we could do the scan! The poor technician tried for 35 minutes! They say they could re-do the scan, but it does not appear to have any abnormalities (which is great) and that I can do the blood test at 16 weeks, which is what we are choosing to do. It was wonderful to be able to see the baby for so long which is a blessing.
I'm PO-ed because the technician gave me 2 pictures, a really great baby one and a really strange looking one. Now as i'm thinking and looking at it, I realize that she gave us a picture of the baby's genetalia. I'm team green and am so PO-ed that she gave me a picture of this without asking me, and I'm even more PO-ed that I didn't mention that we are team green. It's pretty obvious what sex the baby is. Grrrr!
Re: NT scan - PO-ed
That link that everyone always posts to the baby's genitalia says that at 11 weeks, even an experienced technician has a 50% error rate at telling the sex. https://www.baby2see.com/gender/study_ultrasound.html
It goes up to 84% at 12 weeks.
No matter what the pic looks like, I wouldn't be too afraid that you know the sex for sure.

I second this, at 11 weeks its still to early, even for experienced technicians. If I recall correctly that website uses US's from 12+ weeks, and the reliability is not very high.
ETA: the website gives stats on reliability. At 11 weeks the reliability to assign sex is only 50%, and only 34 out of 100 babies were correctly identified. Relax, you are still team green :-)

Like the other PP's have said, at this point all babies look the same. What you're thinking is a penis is really just the genital tubercle that all fetuses have.
And yes, techs do make mistakes. At our anatomy scan with DS, the tech knew we did not want to know the sex. During a certain time, he told us to look away from the monitors and we did. Then during the final check, the tech scanned the baby from toes up to the head - and quite obviously between the legs was his little c*ck and b*lls
I still officially considered ourselves Team Green because even trained technicians make mistakes. But I made sure that DH and I had a boy's name ready lol
Thank you all for your informative messages, it really helps! I've spent the last 2 days obsessing about this (damn hormones lol).
Back to being team green!!!
