Anyone have the "3 way" jacket from Childrens Place?

My MIL bought them for my girls. They seem a little complicated for my taste. When u take your LO out on errands, do u remove the inner layer or only use the fleece part? It fits my girls so bulky, Thanks!

  • I have it. IT's not real complicated. But I dont use it either. I use this poncho thing someone made instead. I would only use it if we went somewhere we were outside probably

  • LOL I just bought them yesterday for my twins.

I havent used it yet but we live in NC so the weather here is weird in the winter- cold in AM and often goes up 20 degrees during the day. The kids go to daycare & go outside in the AM & PM and I was really torn about the coat thing b/c I didn't want to get a really heavy puffy coat for the AM and then in the PM they're sweating in the thing b/c it is 50 degrees out, and vice versa with a lighter jacket. So I figure this way they can have it either way depending on the day. Maybe the daycare teachers will hate me for it ;). I looked at a bunch of places for coats & it seemed like the choices were big puffy coat or light coat & neither one was working for me. Hopefully this one will be comfy and not stiff, that is my biggest concern since the outside layer is like that waterproof stuff.

  • Ds used the fleece coat in the fall now we use just the puffy coat. Probably when it gets colder here in January I will put the fleece insert back in and it will stay in probably through February.

  • We have them! Not really complicated. So far we have just used the fleece part, but we live in SC. We'll probably use the outer layer in Jan/Feb if we want to play outside in the cold.

  • Right now I'm just using the outer layer.  We used the fleece when it was warmer.  Not sure when I will use both layers. Probably just when we are outside for a period of time.
  • OK so I just put DD in the one I bought yesterday & she looked hilarious. It is huge. But she is 16 months old, on the small side (but still 25-50%ile) and it is 18 month, I wanted it to be ok in winter so I didn't want to get hte 12 month...

I will try just the outer layer- do you think the outer layer alone is warmer than the fleece layer alone?

Yep. While the fleece layer would certainly be cozier if it's just chilly, I would think the outer layer would be better if it's below 40-45, or at all wet or windy.

  • We got the for the twins. We used the fleece in the fall, and are currently using the jacket with the matching hat and gloves when it's cold. we haven't put the fleece back in, figure we will do it when it gets freezing cold here. They don't seem to be too bulky in their carseats.
