RP: Heart Murmur

We went to DS's 2 month appt today and the doctor heard a heart murmur

She said she felt it was likely benign as his color, pulse, lung capacity and energy leverl all seem normal and they'd just check for it again at 6 months

I was fine until I told DH on the phone and just lost it

Anyone have this with their LO? Any words to talk me down off the ledge would be appreciated

A lot of babies have a heart murmur for the first few months. Its caused by a valve that is still open from fetal circulation. It should close on it's own and the murmur will be gone.

Iam just lurking, I had a heart murmur when I was born . I did have a patent ductus done through my back , the good news is that a heart murmur is one of the few heart problems that has the easiest fix and least complicated out of every other type of heart operation, hopfully your los will close on its own, I dident have the surgery until I was a year and a half and Iam fine , good luck
