The babysitter is getting a new baby on Monday (our best friends daughter). She has a van and drives every day to drop her daughter off at preschool. We had planned to keep DD rear-facing until the weight limit or until she totally flipped out or hated RF, which neither has happened yet. But now with a new baby & a bucket seat she thinks it would be far easier for her other kids to get in the back of the car if DD was forward facing. I dont think there is anyway around it, she will have 5 kids total and 2 in the back seat are in boosters that she has to buckle in, so with 2 RF seats in the captains chairs it would be really difficult to get in the back...
So... I think I have to let her switch DD but will give strict instructions to remind her about no jackets, proper placement of the chest clip, etc., to ease my anxiety. DH and I want to keep her RF in our cars as long as possible, and I'm wondering if others have had experience with this. (I remember one post with one comment that said their kid did fine, hoping to get some more input). Also, any tips to keep her extra happy while rear-facing in our cars? I am considering one of those soft mirror things to go on the seat. I know they are generally a no-no but I think I prefer rear facing + soft mirror to keep her happy compared to unhappy toddler & needing to FF.
Thanks for any input!

I know there are a lot more moms out there who FF who's kids are either almost at the minimum requirement or right over, but are afraid to say because of the backlash that comes from posting it on TB. I'm glad I'm not alone!
