WW mamas on the new plan

Have you figured out any way to estimate points without entering all the nutrition info? On the old plan I could more or less guesstimate that 50 calories was about 1 point (not 100% accurate and obviously high fiber or higher fat tipped it one way or another, but it was generally pretty close). Are there any similar "cheats" with this plan anyone has figured out?

Thanks.

  • I used to do the exact same thing, and I'm not loving having to calculate everything again.  I think it will get easier over time though, once we start to remember how many points the things we eat the most are.  The new formula is much more complex, so I don't think you can guesstimate with it like you could with the old one.

  • No luck here, I ended up buying the calculator.

  • Nope--I don't think you can "eyeball it" anymore. :-( I do miss that. I have the iPhone app, and it's pretty handy. But I definitely spent double the time in the grocery store yesterday because I had to re-calculate the points of everything. I figure eventually I'll learn the new points of the stuff I eat most frequently, and I'll be good to go. So far I'm really liking the plan. It's good to know that I can at least always grab a piece of fruit without having to worry about calculating points.
