Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Silly question for those who BF

I wasn't able to BF due to the meds I was on for PPD. My DH is a boob man and I've always wondered how DH's go that long without getting to touch them. LOL If you BF, is your DH a boob man? and if so...how was it for him? My DH said he'd be willing to share, but I was under the impression really only the LO could use them during BFing?

  • For the first few months it was hands off for Dh and I think it bothered me more than him.  Now anything goes as long as I am not "full"

  • The first 6months he could touch them as long as he was very gentle and they werent too engorged. I loved my big BF boobs. After 6months my supply was established enough that him touching them ect wouldnt cause me to leak so it was anything goes.

Now that Im a retired breastfeeder they are hands off because they are empty/saggy and I hate hate them.

  • DH didn't touch them for 14 months. He would've been shot with milk in the eye if he did.
  • I'll be honest. In the early months, it would have been a mess. In fact, sometimes it was a mess whether he touched them or not : /  He totally did not care though. It was the best thing for our family to bf so that is what we did.

This, and in fact just last night he commented that he likes them better now b/c my nips used to be ridiculously sensitive and he could barely touch them before I slapped his hand away. Now he can cop a feel all he wants.

Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.
  • I am still BFing DS and he will be 20 months next week.  That being said the first 4 months or so I didn't love having them touched.  After that it was no big deal.  Milk does come out about 10% of the time but DH doesn't seem to care.  *it is not usually a lot of milk*

    31 months!

Ditto and my husband is a boob man. Is it a sacrifice? Sure but one we both feel worth making.

  • when I first started breastfeeding and they were sore all the time he pretty much knew to leave them be but when I stopped complaining he went back to normal lol.
