I posted a question on the photography board earlier today. I haven't been on since then and just went on to read the responses. I got alot of good advice but I guess I am a little shocked at some of the comments about me being a drive-by poster and not coming back to thank the girls, etc. I didn't realize you had to be a regular to post over there. Wow.
I think I'll stay over here.
Re: I guess "drive-by posting" is not allowed
I have never really seen that of them. Hard to become a regular over there because everyone has to start somewhere.
FWIW, I was reading that post earlier, and didn't make it through there because it kindof derailed.
Do you have a kit lens? I used my kit lens to take pictures of my house when it was on the market. I would be glad to PM you the link to those pictures if you want to look. I didn't have a tripod or speed light, but I think I did okay. I wish I would have had those two things to use more of what afw was saying by ambient light.
35mm was too tight, even in my huge house.
Usually it's a pretty nice place though. I vouched for you in that post though. I can't have anyone thinking ill of you. You're too sweet for that.
Eh, I see it both ways because I am a regular over there and on the other board. I think that post was one of the more uncalled for taunting of
driveby posting, but, for the most part I do understand. The ladies over there, including myself sometimes, really put forth effort into their responses, explanations, and tutorials for people asking questions. The polite thing is to go back and say thank you for someone who invested a bit of their time in to ensuring that you better understand the resolution to the problem you were having.
I think if done right, the distortion from the wider side of the kit lens will be fine-- as long as it is consistent.
Thanks B!
I agree with you R. It is polite to say thank you and I would never not say thanks if someone took the time to help me.
