Do any other June Moms have a subchorionic hematoma? I found out about mine at 8 weeks, and went back for an u/s at 9 weeks and was told it had gotten a little smaller. I finally stopped worrying about it, only to find out it had grown pretty significantly when I went in for my 12 week N/T scan this week. It's now 5cmX3cmX5cm. I think this qualified as "large," but I'm really not sure. I spoke with a nurse in my OB's office yesterday who was really re-assuring and kept telling me it was normal, but I'm still freaking out knowing that it's getting bigger and not dissolving like I thought it would. I've had no bleeding yet.
Anyone else dealing with this?
Re: Subchorionic Hematoma?
I have one. I don't know how big it is, and I've had quite a bit of bleeding. I go in next week to see if it's getting smaller or not. It's a little stressfull but I'm focusing on the positive! Or trying to...
Fingers crossed for both of us!
It sounds like most women who have these have good outcomes, so try not to stress too much. Doctors can't really do much about them other than monitor them by ultrasound, and my doctor/midwives won't even do that since they can't treat it.
I was told I had a small one at 7 weeks but they didn't say anything about it at all at 12 weeks until I asked, and the nurse just said my screen looked good and the radiologist saw nothing of concern. So I'm guessing the SCH disappeared or shrunk. I never had spotting with it, so I assumed that was a good sign.
I was told these usually disapper by 20 weeks, so hang in there -- it's likely to turn out to be a non-issue!
I have one. We found it at 4w5d. I had a follow up U/S at 9w1d and it was still there and had not changed in size. I'm not sure how big it is, but my doctor said he isn't too concerned about it, especially since I haven't had any bleeding or cramping. I have my NT scan next week at 12w4d, so it'll be interesting to find out if it's changed any (if they measure it).
Right now my doctor has just told me to take it easy and drink plenty of fluids.
I have never posted here but I thought I would chime in.
I currently have one. Mine is a tiny bit larger then your 6x8cm. This is considered bad, as your should be too. SH are very common but they are usually very small usually around 1cm. I was on complete bed rest for a week, until the bleeding stopped. Now I am on just pelvic rest. Mine was found about 2 weeks ago. I could have had an ultrasound this week but told the doctor to wait and am going back in 2 weeks for another one to check on it. I basically will have an ultrasound every 2-3 weeks to check on it. The bleed it self isn't all that bad, its where it tore the placenta that is bad. We are hoping for the placenta to reattach but obviously can't do anything about it.
I have 1 but passed most of the blood clot at 8 weeks. It was the size of a half dollar and scared me to death. But the doctor did a US at 9 weeks and wasn't worried. It wasn't in a dangerous area but I might have more spotting. Which I had yesterday and passed a small blood clot this morning. I don't have red bleeding or cramps so I am not scared.
Trust your doctor.
