Anyone have their Christmas menus scheduled?
I'm dreading Christmas more than Thanksgiving in the weight loss/gain area. I have 3 Christmas celebrations to go to. I'm hosting Christmas Eve dinner (so I'll have some control over that menu at least), Christmas dinner is at my parents house, and Boxing Day is at my ILs- brunch.
What's on your menu?? I'm looking for some ideas to have at my dinner and to bring to Christmas dinner.
Re: Christmas Dinner(s)
Christmas Eve we do Feast of the 7 Fishes at my g'ma's. As the veggie, I'm in charge of bringing kale patties & a pasta. I'm going to do spaghetti alla puttanesca for the pasta this year.
Christmas afternoon my MIL does a ham dinner. I'm going to bring a tortellini salad. There will also be the standard - green beans, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, I think she normally has beets. I can't remember what else.
Christmas dinner is at our house & we always have gnocchi.
Um, can you tell I like pasta at Christmas time!?
ham, ham, and more ham. Christmas Eve we have country ham, Christmas day we usually have a honey baked one. my mom makes fresh rolls ::drool::
and i'm totally blanking on the sides that we have, but we always have a pumpkin cheesecake for dessert :-) Oh, and a figgy pudding, which is served while we sing "now bring us a figgy pudding and bring it right now!"
It's something my Italian Roman Catholic Family has always done ... basically 7 fish based dishes for dinner with "sides" of pasta, veggies, etc. The 7 fish are supposed to represent the 7 sacraments of the Church.
