Last year I got her DC providers (there were 3 in her infant class last year) $50 Visa gift cards. This year (new school) she has 2 teachers...I'm thinking about doing the same thing. I gave it to them in a coffee mug filled with stuff to make hot chocolate.

I worked in daycare for five years and most daycares will not allow teachers to accept cash. Gift cards are great. For older kids, they can draw or color a picture to give their teacher along with the gift card, or the idea of giving the gc in a mug with hot chocolate or coffee is great too.
Re: Tis the season--daycare gift clicky poll
I would do a gift card instead of straight up cash in an envelope.
