Where to donate/give clothes?

I was given a huge amount of baby boy clothes (0-12) and have picked out what I want just in case #2 is a boy. I have a whole plastic tub full of clothes left, some new with tags. I want to give them to someone/place that truly needs them and will not re-sell them for profit, any ideas?

Re: Where to donate/give clothes?

  • Up here, I'm not totally sure.  When I lived in Florida, we always donated items like that to womens shelters.  Maybe contact a police department and they could steer you in the right direction.  I know the women's shelters were always needing baby items and were always so grateful when we dropped items off.

  • You could donate them to a church clothes closet? They don't sell them to people- they give them away to those in need.
  • The Women's Shelter downtown accepts donations - not sure about baby clothes. They don't seem to be on the list.

  • Thanks! I found a battered woman's shelter in Raleigh that accepts baby clothes. I think I'll give them a call today.

  • Since you're in Raleigh this is too far of a drive for you, but if others are looking to donate baby items I wanted to mention this place ...
