Really wish we had a recliner.....

Ok who can relate?! LOL! I am 33 weeks, and I am so frigging uncomfortable. Trying to get on and off our bed ten times a night to pee is painful, getting off the sofa is painful, and getting in and out of my car is painful. REALLY wishing we had a recliner at home to just raise myself up so I don't have to physically do it. Sorry for the complaining, but just gotta get it off my chest!  :)  No position I sit in is comfortable at this point. Ugh. Hope all you women who are at this stage in pregnancy are feeling better than I am  :)

Re: Really wish we had a recliner.....

  • Okay, I feel silly for asking, but since you brought it up....what hurts!?  Is it the joints in your pelvis? Your back?  Help a girl out, I need to be prepared!

  • I went out and bought a recliner when I was 26 weeks.  A friend told me that I would really appreciate having one- I really hate the look of recliners.  So I bought one, and loved using it.  I love it now too, it helps make cuddling with my boys comfy.

  • girl, i am right there with you. especially with the getting up at night thing. i pretty much don't move without moaning. we just got a glider with an ottoman and it's the best thing ever. i'm wishing i had gotten it about a month ago!

  • I am sorry that you are so uncomfortable - I remember feeling the same way!  I went on bedrest at 32 weeks and lived in my glider chair until the end.  I sat in it all day (I did not have to lay down for my bedrest) and I usually slept in it b/c I wasn't really sleeping at night anyway.

Is there any chance you can get one of them?  Maybe on craigs list or a friend who had a baby is done with theirs?  We just passed ours on to a friend.

  • I always tell people to get a rocking recliner for the nursery- not a glider or rocking chair... but a recliner! They are great for late pregnancy- and great when you need to sleep in baby's room, too.... we have them in both of the kid's room and love them.

    get one!

Listen to Goldie! We got a rocking recliner (actually, two) on her suggestion, and they have been GREAT. I slept in one in the last few months, and we use them every day now that the babies are here.

We bought two of this model. One is in our master bedroom and the other is in the nursery.

  • It is really my one regret about my pregnancy- I had so much trouble sleeping from the babies & also got terrible carpal tunnel and I wish we woudlve gotten a reclining glider so I would've had it when I was pregnant for sleepign!

    GL!

haha.. yep! You got it! My pelvis joints...my back cramps...the muscles in my tummy every time I get up and down. ah the fun! :)

Yeah we should have totally bought one... starting two weeks it's just unbearable to try and sleep. Oh well a bit too late now! Now I just try to prop myself up with pillows and that doesn't seem to help much.  :(

I don't sleep at night either!  We have a glider in the baby room that we got- but it's not a super comfy cozy one. It's comfortable, but the arms are wooden so probably wouldn't be comfy "trying" to sleep in it.  Even though I am due later this month I have seriously contemplated getting one for just the next few weeks. We'll see!

Thanks for posting the link to this! We just have a glider chair in the baby room which I totally couldn't sleep in , but something like this I totally could. Although sleeping at this point is quite minimal. I think we might get something like this and just find a place for it.....
