Hello ladies. Has anyone called the insurance company about purchasing a pump? Do they pay for any of it? How about renting it? Do they pay for any of that? What insurance company do you have? Thanks!
I have blue cross blue shield. I was told that the insurance company will pay 90% and I have to pay 10%. I was also given the names of places where to buy it.
I have United and they told me no. However, a family member said her PPO covered the one from the hospital bc they bill it as part of the hospital stay.
If your insurance will not cover the cost if you have an FSA (flex spending account) you can use that to cover the cost or the portion your insurance company will not cover. My FSA will cover the cost as long as I submit a note from my Dr. saying it is necessary. They will accept returning to work as necessary.
I'm in Canada, and my Insurance Co is Sunlife. I'm required to have a Dr's note saying that I require a pump, and then the Ins will cover 80% of the cost up to a cap of $200.
