PKU test done again?

DS had his PKU test done at the hospital and the results were fine.  The pedi at his 2-week appointment gave me another PKU work-up to be done before his 1 month visit.  We went today (and DS did a great job!)... is this a normal thing to have done again outside of the hospital?

I think so, we had to get it done too. They said everyone does 2 to be sure that it's fine. We had the first one done after the first feeding at the hospital and the next one done at the Lab before 1 month.

Thanks! The pedi did say it was normal to do, but I had a mom freak out moment

Totally normal.  In WA the second one is done between 10 and 14days.

Yep, we had to go back to the hospital to have the second one done at 2 weeks. Pedi doesn't do it in their office.

Yup in MD they do a second PKU. My pedi's office does it at 2 weeks.
