30 Days of Truth: Day 27

A slightly more upbeat topic than yesterday's (this morning's).

Today's topic: What?s the best thing going for you right now?

The original blog idea

Dear Bump: You suck.

Re: 30 Days of Truth: Day 27

  • I'll start, you shy peeps, you.

Everytime I visit with my grandma, she gets all nostalgic and wistful about when she and my grandpa (who passed 20 years ago) were just newly married and starting to have kids. Her first two were 17 months apart, and she is constantly telling me with a tear in her eye how amazing those first few years were. It makes me really appreciate where I am right now--one amazing little girl and a second baby on the way. So I guess my answer is the best thing I have going for me is my family status right now, being pregnant with our second and having all those fun, exciting times still ahead of me.

    Dear Bump: You suck.
  • I'm in a sh!tty mood, so really the only thing I could come up with is my son is healthy, smart, and adorable.  And napping.

  • I'm having a crappy day, too, and in no mood to talk about the good things in my life Stick out tongue But if I have to .... I must admit I have a lot going for me (and my family). My husband is on a great career path, this pregnancy has been amazing .... Life is good.

...when the stupid battery on my car isn't dead again and some a** at my office didn't shake up my lunch.

Oh sorry, that just slipped out.

  • A lot of women nowadays are just starting their families in their 30s.  But when I turn 30, my kids will be 10 and 4.  I'll be in the home stretch :)

I don't have any career to speak of but at least I've gotten the family thing out of the way.

  • The only thing i got going for me right now is that everybody I care about is happy and healthy.

  • Right now, right now, we're visiting with my dad and step mother in NY and we're putting up the Christmas tree. DS is my dad's only grandchild (I'm my dad's only kid) and he's so in love. It has really been wonderful for us all. I have really enjoyed watching my dad and my son interact with one another.
  • I got a job offer today. That's all I can say about it, but it's a big relief!

    Yay for you!

DH is the awesome part of my life.  He is so caring and considerate.  Even though we're not settled on the family thing, it isn't making us any less close. And when I deal with all of my family dramaz, he's my constant.

    Congrats, Mimi!!

Me?  I'm mega busy, which makes me happy.  I am applying for graduate school, which I'm really excited about. There's something else awesome going on, but I can't let myself talk about it on public internet space yet!  Its on my password protected blog, though, if anyone wants to take a gander and privately message about it. Stick out tongue

  • Right now, it's definitely my health.  I'm in the best shape of my life and, physically, I feel fantastic.  For the first time in a long, long time I feel comfortable in my own skin.  That is one of the greatest blessings I've ever experienced.

A very close second is my son.  To quote a cheesy song that I secretly love, "(he) is the best thing that's ever been mine."

  • Congratulations, Mimi! That's exciting news.

I'm in pretty good spirits right now, so I feel like I have a lot going for me. I just finished my third ever manuscript draft. I have an amazing and wonderful husband that supports my work. We just moved into a house where we can have friends and family visit and stay. Things are good.

  • I'm grouchy too but maybe thinking about this will help.

My marriage is great, I miss my family but they're all healthy, we have a house that I love and I have a job with cool co-workers.

    congrats!

me:  the baby that's growing in my belly.  I'd say that's some pretty good news!  oh, and that we finally told our families last week was HUGE, I'm so not good at keeping secrets and this one was killing me.  but the look on my parents'/sisters' faces was priceless.

  • Well, congrats Mimi first of all.  As for what I've got going good in my life...let's see:

I have a job and my husband has a job--yay!  For the moment, my dog's arthritis isn't bothering him like it did the other night.  And, I am getting some great artwork from my students.  My sculpture kids just did some amazing reduction work and my art 1 students just completed some great faux cloisonnes and are at the moment creating some great rhythm low-relief sculptures.  I am very pleased!

  • I feel like everything is awesome right now!  I have an amazing husband and an amazing daughter both of whom I adore.  I'm getting to spend time at home with Kate right now and it's bonus time.  We had planned for 1 year and here I am on my second year.  I'm scheming to add a third year which would be fantastic.

I'm sad that we aren't TTC right now, but I'm being slightly less melodramatic about it now.  After all, people do get pg when they are over 35, even previously infertiles like me, right?  :)

  • Dude, I don't even know where to begin!  I feel so blessed and happy right now.  I am through the hardest year of my life and have come out the other side with SUCH amazing perspective and joy than I ever thought possible.  Sure, I could always have a faster car, better luggage, and a flashier wardrobe blah blah blah (couldn't we all?) But all things considered, life's pretty effing good right now, even due to the fact that we've had to cut back on our "fun" spending/activities this past year.  DH is on the verge of an amazing, crazy-awesome business venture (FB friends, watch out for me pimping the new biz out very soon!), my work has morphed into something really creative and artistically rewarding, DD is so frickin' awesome that I sit for several minutes several times a day just in awe of her... the list goes on.  We're at the top of our game.  Possibilities are endless. :)  It feels amazing.

Sorry for that complete novel...it's just that I feel so darn great lately that it feels nice to put it "out there." Big Smile
