Another appointment FAIL - 39wks

This was my first internal (wasn't nearly as bad as I was thinking it would be pain wise) and I have made little progress. Doc says my cervix is still pretty thick and I am about 1cm dilated. I know things can change in a matter of hours, but I was still pretty bummed at the news. They were entertaining the idea of possibly inducing me this week because I have been so sick with m/s the last few weeks, but only if I was showing more progress then this. Now I wait another week and hope that maybe things will happen on their own. My LO is pretty low so maybe I will get lucky. I would rather this start on its own then get induced anyway.

GL! I'm sure it is tough to feel so miserable and just sit around and wait... but you never know! Maybe he WILL come on his own. If that happens, it might mean easier labor for you and your LO.

It's so hard to be patient, though! I'm 37 weeks 5 days and getting more and more ready by the minute.

I had a similiar appt yesterday.  First internal showed 1cm dilated and I was 50% effaced, but I was hoping things would have been further along, being due on Friday and all.  Sorry you were disappointed but I know how you feel.  They also swept my membranes but it hasn't really done much.  Hope next appt you have more luck!!

Same here, 39w appointment yesterday and I'm not dilated at all. Soft and thin but that's it. I'm making a point to be as mobile as possible the next few days and hope for some progress, I've been basically a couch potato for various reasons and OB finally said go walk laps if you feel up to it!

No progress for me either today...39 weeks.  Boo.  They said next week, we'll talk induction.
