UPDATED: ? on Target Nursing Camis

UPDATED QUESTION: What type of "sling" from Target did you buy/use and why?

Full sling:

 Or side sling:

I'm leaning towards side sling, because the full sling looks like some kind of sexy/torture device.

Original questions:

Where did you get your nursing camis? I'd like to get one or two, but for as cheaply as possible, naturally Stick out tongue

Walmarts are terrible and are being returned right now.

I've heard Old Navy's are annoying because the strap comes completely loose.

Thoughts, recomendations?

I'm not even nursing and I still wear them because they are so comfortable.

Ditto this word for word. I have not worn a bra since my DD was born 8 months ago. I have worn one of these every single day, every single hour (minus showers) since she was born. Love them.

  • I love the nursing tanks from Target!  They are cheap, soft and fit well.  I bought a size larger than I would normally wear so they fit comfortably over my PP belly.
  • fwiw, i liked the target nursing bras - still use thoes even tho we aren't nursing anymore
  • I liked my Target camis until my husband threw them into the dryer and they all shrunk. I wouldn't machine dry them. I also loved my target nursing bras until my husband dried those too...

Ugh! I bet that was a fun conversation Sad

And off to Target I go! I swear, my pregnancy brain has made me incapable of thinking for myself. I own maternity clothes from Target and yet Target didn't even cross my mind today. Der! Thanks for the recs!

  • Side sling for sure. I had one of the full sling (I think BeckO called it the booby thong style?) and I only wore it as a last resort if all my others were dirty. It just wasn't as comfortable for me.

  • I've never seen the side sling in the store, but those do look better. Definitely get a size larger than usual; they run small.

  • Those Target camis are all I wear. I prefer the side sling. At one point they stopped carrying the side sling in stores and only had them online, but I don't know if that is true anymore.

eta: Ditto the shrinkage issue. I buy big because in my sleep deprived state I knew I couldn't manage to not dry anything. I buy extra large and they fit me once they shrink.

  • I have the full sling cami.  I love them and have been wearing them every day since A was born.  I never saw the side sling so I dont know which is more comfortable but I have had no problems with the full sling.

  • I had the full swing.  Becko called them a boob thong the other day, I had no idea there was a different one!  I would go with the side swing, looks way more comfy.  Oh and I got mine at Target.
  • I have both types, and if I were to go buy more, I would have to say I'd get the side sling, simply because the "boob thong" part seemed to ride up in between my boobs and show at the most inopportune times.  But I also have big boobs, so that might be a problem exclusive to that.

    :-)

  • Thanks! Y'all are awesome Smile
  • I have the full sling and it's never bothered me at all. But like a few others, I never knew there was an alternative. My DD likes the play with the "thong" while nursing. :-)

  • I rock the full sling.  I started with two before I had the baby and I went the other day and got two more.  I prob will get 2 more before Christmas because I am wearing them every day.  They are awesome.  And comfortable.  I got a size bigger because my boobs hurt and I didn't want anything binding.
  • Hated the Target Cami. I didn't know they came out with a side sling though. The "thong" style gave me clogged ducts in the bottom of my breastsSad I tried cutting that part out and make the holes bigger but hello... that looks pretty ratty when NIP. I have a very long torso and they were always too short to tuck in but would ride up if I lifted my arms. The quality of the material just couldn't compare to the Bravado. Yes, big difference in price but well worth it IMHO.

  • a. LOVED my Target camis.  They were perfect for me.

    b. I have the side sling & they work fine for me.  I honestly don't even remember the full sling being an option when I bought mine.
