I comb my hair in the shower with conditioner in it, then rinse and let it air dry. I also use a mousse for curly hair. I don't use any other product and I don't comb or brush my hair except in the shower (otherwise the curls fall out and it gets really frizzy.)

All of this! And once it is dry, dont touch it constantly.

Re: Tips for taming the curls?
Let it airdry. Just brush it and let it go. I have curly hair and if I brush it I lose my curls and get frizzy.
So I brush it once after showering then let it airdry.
or try blowdrying it and scrunch up the hair as you dry it. When my nieces were little that is what worked best.
I have super curly hair, I just put some mousse on my hands and finger comb it through my hair then air dry.
