freezer food storage question

I plan to make our own baby food and wondered what type of containers are good for freezing the food. I've heard ice cube trays are great. Will silicone trays be ok for inital freezing? Then what do you personally use to store the cubes?

Re: freezer food storage question

  • I'm sure silicone trays will be fine.  I used these just because I liked that there was a cover.  We have a french door fridge with freezer drawer and it just made putting them in the drawer a little bit easier to stack.  After the cubes were frozen.  I just put them in a ziplock bag with the puree and date on the outside.

  • Ditto PP.  I had trays with a top but it wouldn't really matter if they didn't.  Then popped into freezer bags when frozen.
