frozen bm

I have to go back to work tomorrow afternoon so lo will need at least one bottle, maybe two.  I will have to use frozen milk since I don't have enough in the fridge right now.  I think I've heard that thawed is good for 24 hours? Should I put it in the fridge overnight so it thaws?

Re: frozen bm

  • I never took my frozen BM out the night before.  I would take it out and thaw it in a cup of warm water.  It defrosts super quick.  I stored mine in the storage bags.

  • If you used the storage bags, they are pretty thin and the one time i had to use frozen milk, i did just what PP said and placed it in a cup of warm water. Defrosted within 10 mins. Just direct whoever is watching your LO to do the same, and make sure they DO NOT MICROWAVE IT !

Yes, my MIL kept offering her microwave at Thanksgiving for me to warm DS's bottle. I didn't want to offend her by correcting her, but after the third time she offered, I finally had to tell her you can't microwave BM.

And yes, it thaws super quick in the storage bags.
