Nosy QOTD (clicky poll)

But not too nosy since it's clicky :)  And of course because income is all relative.  Just a curiosity of mine.

  • I voted, but forgot to add my income! Stupid pregnancy brain! LOL

  • Ours is on the cusp of 99 and 100, but we live in NYC so most of our income just goes to rent. Bleh.

  • H and I do okay for ourselves, but dang, whoever's making over $200k makes me a little green. ;)

I will say that it seems like no matter how much you earn, there's never enough money when you have tons of medical bills, house improvements, babies on the way.  I think H and I might feel that way though because we hate debt and it seems like a lot of people we know just finance everything and seem to buy something fancy every week. We have almost no debt and try to keep it that way, so we have to be very careful each month with things we purchase (especially big ticket items like furniture) to know what we can pay off immediately and what we have to finance for a little while.

We are also big savers and put a lot into our 401ks as well, so while some of our friends and family assume we have a lot of money, we truly do not, since so much of it isn't "spendable."

Wow. I may also be a little green about the one's making over $200k even though we're also still pretty up there.

DH is also very frugal and I'm a bit of a spender. It always looks like we are pretty well off to other people just basing off our professions. People are surprised that we don't have cable subscriptions but it's really not so much to be frugal but rather we don't care about it. Internet we both HAVE to have though.

  • Wow I wish we made the amount of money all of you make.  Also, once we have LO I will no longer be working and it will only be DH's salary.  We've given up a lot of things that aren't needs though so that we can make me staying home possible.
