.....to try again?  

My fiancee and I are getting married in 3 weeks and he is really looking forward to trying again.  He really wants us to have a baby (I have 2 teenage girls from a previous marriage and he has a daughter) and I am filled with so much anxiety about getting pregnant ( I am 40) and the probability of carrying the baby to term.  My follow up appointment is Dec 13th and he feels we should jump right in and start all over.

I definitely want a baby with my soon to be hubby BUT when is it ok to try again???

I haven't started up again since I just barely had my D & C. I asked the Dr. and he told me 1-3 cycles, depending on if we feel ready yet or not. I think it just depends on your situation, though. I am told it is mostly just a wait time so your endometrium can re-build itself and to prepare yourself emotionally. I am not a Dr., but I would say if you feel ready and are physically well and have given your body enough time to re-cooperate you should be just fine. Definitely double check with your Doc, though. I guess it depends on what your doctor told you. Most say wait 2 weeks to have sex to make sure your cervix is closed again to prevent infection. Then wait 1-3 cycles to TTC. When pressed, my doc said it was to make sure the next pregnancy is easier to date. Not waiting could therefore  make the next pregnancy more anxiety producing... e.g. you ovulate 10 days late, so when you go for your first u/s at 8 weeks by "LMP" the baby is measuring 6 1/2wks and you don't know if there is something wrong with the pregnancy or you ovulated late. You might think you're hacing another m/c. There's some good info online if you google it with a variety of different perspectives.

We waited one cycle, but had some "oops" moments with condoms before my first period. HTH!

We're starting again immediately (after doctors required minimum).  Largely an age issue for us as well (both of us are 34).

We're trying again once I get AF, according to my doctor's OK. Maybe I'm in denial, but I feel like I'm ready.

My Doctor said wait 10-14 days after D&C to have sec and he said there is no reason for us to not start TTC right away. We started TTC after 12 days (couldn't wait any longer for a little TLC )

We shall see what happens.  For me, I figure, my doc said it's ok, and I will ALWAYS worry about another m/c whether I wait 1 month or 6 months.

It's out of my hands...

Just had 1st AF and are planning on waiting until after this next cycle.  Partially because my doc prefers this and partially because of a new short term disability policy I signed up for.  Can't use it for maternity leave if I am pregnant before it goes into affect.  So we are waiting another month

I started TTC one cycle after my D&C.  Some Drs will tell you to tell one, two, three or more cycles.  Ask your dr. since everyone is different.

My doc said we could TTC after 1st AF. The biotch showed up with a vengeance at exactly 5 weeks and we officially started TTC as of Friday. The way I see it is, I will never be alright with losing my Emily, I will never stop mouning Emily or missing her so badly that it hurts. So, really what am I waiting for?

My doctor told us to wait 2 cycles to try again.  I am still waiting for my first cycle to start so it is looking like February for us.

My doctor said we could try again once I got AF (and 2 weeks no sex after D&C).  We waited an extra cycle (so, 2 AFs to TTC) because I just felt like my period was so weird the first time that I wasn't confident things were back to normal.  We got pg right away but had another missed m/c.  I don't believe it had anything to do with how long we waited, and the doctor said we can try again once I got AF (which I got today), but I feel gun-shy this time.  I think we'll wait at least this cycle and another, and maybe in January we'll feel ready to get back on the roller coaster.
