Allergan still present or a new reaction?

I seriously feel like the worst mother ever.  DS has mentioned bug bites since the new antibiotic but I was thinking that he was just acting and remembering from Sunday night.  Well he finally let me look in his pj's where he's been scratching  on his arms and he's hiving up.  He also has a bunch of open but scabbed over scratch marks in between his shoulder blades.  I just don't know what to do.  I just gave him Benadryl.  But, I don't know if I should call his pediatrician who will probably just send us to Urgent Care.  DS isn't in respiratory distress.  Just hives.  Could he still have any leftover old drug in his system from Sunday?  Is that possible?  Or is it this current drug?  This one was supposed to be the least reactive.  I'm off to google this drug.

I just googled it and it's in the same class/family of drug I took once while pg with DS.  I couldn't keep it down and was switched off it...also for a kidney infection.  :-P

I can't say for sure, but Sunday until Friday sounds like a long time for it to cause a new reaction - especially if he'd been symptom free for any period in between.

I don't know if he's been symptom free because he doesn't normally let me scrutinize him.  He finally let me check out his arms and back tonight after a lot of discussion.  He's been in pj's almost all week.  So, I've just changed him into a new pair generally as fast as possible to avoid meltdowns and I haven't been giving him a once over.  And he's been getting the new meds at dinner time which is well after the morning pj change.
