Is this odd?

Twice now (at least) my MIL mentions TO ME about how this family friend of hers thinks that SIL's DD (same age as my DD) is "Just the cutest little girl ever & should enter into cute baby contests."

Ummm...thanks. Why in the world does she tell that me? I mean...I'm not concerned because I know that MY DD is seriously the cutest(!)...

Why is DH's family so....I don't know....makes me miss my own dysfunctional, co-dependent family?

    That is odd.  I think I'd be giving the side eye to that, lol.

    However, your DD is adorable :) Perhaps she's trying to plant the seed for you to do it too by mentioning someone else.  Kind of how us women bring up ideas so that our husbands will think that they are theirs?

    Maybe if she says something about it again you should say

    "That's strange, I'm pretty sure DD is the cutest little girl ever. I would never put her into a cute baby contest, it just wouldn't be fair to all the other little girls."
