prevacid moms
how long did it take for your prevacid to kick in and work? or did it not work for you?
we had temporary success with zantac switched from similac sensitive to soy to alimentum back to soy. now we are giving lo one dose on prevacid in the am and one dose of zantac in the pm. so we will see how that goes. this is only our second day but i was curious how long others had to wait to see results. thanks!

It takes about a week to fully kick in. DD had been on zantac, but was switched to prevacid in hopes of getting more relief. We also just found out she has a milk protein allergy and was switched to prescription formula, which could have been making her reflux worse.
My pedi said to get more benefit from the prevacid, we need to try and dose her either 30 min before eating, or an hour after eating. This way the stomach is more likely to be empty and the medicine can be better absorbed.
