Eco-Friendly Family

OK ladies, fess up

Who has already put up their xmas tree?

I am SO tempted to but we ALWAYS did it the day after Thanksgiving in my family, so I intend to do that.  This will be the first year we have a tree!  We've always just skipped it due to having 3 cats and always traveling over the holidays, but we really want to decorate this year for the kids. :)

  • umm no

I would like it to go up Friday but it most likely will not.

  • I totally would if it wasn't in storage (I need DH's help to get it out and he's on travel right now).

I'm going to try to convince him that it needs to go up on Sunday when we get back in town.  :)

  • Mine is up with the lights on it. I caved last night. I think I need another string of lights though. So I'll probably go get those when L wakes up from her nap.

In my defense, we're leaving for Missouri the week before Christmas and the tree (my tree especially) is my favorite part.

Ornaments will go on tonight or maybe tomorrow after dinner.

We'll be in Oregon (north of KC) before Christmas, driving across the state on Christmas to StL (Affton, Ballwin, and Eureka), then making a stop in Booneville to see more fam.

We're driving (1600 miles to Oregon) and taking all three dogs.  Should be ridiculous.

Thankfully we'll be back for two weeks.

  • Mine's up but my excuse is that I could go into labor really at any time.  One less thing to do. :)

  • Ours is not up.  We'll get a real one and we probably won't get it until closer to Christmas because I don't want Evan to be ripping down ornaments constantly...so we'll delay that fun for a while but I'll probably put other decorations up this weekend.

  • Ours will go up as soon as a lot opens. I'm a real tree person. We usually wait a bit, but I'm planning on  taking it down immediately after Christmas in case I go into labor early.
  • We are real tree ppl and there isn't any lots open yet.  Also I think we will hold off a little this year as I have a feeling DD will pull it down or something crazy!
  • Ours stuff is going up Friday.  B asked me if I wanted to start decorating on Monday and I declined.  It's really funny - he used to HATE Christmas decorations.  He saw them as an inconvenience, they weren't "needed' to celebrate, etc.  But, now that the girls are here, he can't wait to decorate.

When S was born, well in Whoville they say, that the Grinch's small heart grew three sizes that day. ;)

  • we cut down a real one and leave it up past Three Kings Day so we'll go in 2 weeks and get it! If I wasn't so afraid it'd be dead by new years I'd get it last weekend already! lol
  • Not yet, though I wanted to go get it today- none of the tree farms were open though. We decided to go and cut our own this year. So, we're going first thing Friday morning... or when it stops raining. I just hope it isn't crazy busy.
  • mine is up, but only because we're in the middle of moving and I figured if i had to  drag that thing over here I might as well put it up instead of storing it first for a few days then dragging it out again (no ornaments on it yet though)

  • We put ours up on Monday.  It was actually a bit late for us but we were out of town at the ILs.  In Canada, Thanksgiving is the third week in Oct, so there's no worry about 'disrespecting the turkey' or whathaveyou.

I also started listening to Christmas carols before Halloween, but I'm kind of sick like that....Embarrassed
