Anyone else read this? Opinions? I'm not sure how I feel about using FB to find milk, but I haven't looked at the actual FB page yet. Headed there now.
Haven't read it yet either, but I can't imagine it's much different than the Yahoo group milkshare. I personally probably wouldn't feel comfortable taking milk from someone I didn't know, but I donated some of mine to someone who's never met me and I'm just happy it got used.
I'm one that really believes in the "It takes a village" mentality and this fits right in. If I ever got to the point where I felt like i needed help I would feel so lucky to have this sort of site.
While I can see how some may be hesitant, I know that when it comes to my kid(s) I would move mountains to get him what I thought he needed. If that was breastmilk then I'd do it. I think all moms are like that on one topic or another.

This. I don't know if I could use it, but I'd be willing to donate. I never had to deal with supply issues, or have a preemie where BM would be so incredibly important. At that point, I'd probably go through the hospitals and some sort of screened program first, if it was feasible.

This. I donated on Milkshare with my last baby. I won't do it again though. Unfortunately the recipient didn't follow through on her side (it's supposed to be free, but they are supposed to cover the cost of shipping etc.) I ended up out some money from my donation. I hope it at least benefited her baby.

Sorry, I posted and ran. DS is a total crab today.
I would definitely donate. At one point while nursing DS I was making so much milk that I thought about donating. Unfortunately, my supply tanked and we used all of my frozen milk by the time he was 10 months. If it's different this time I would love to donate any extra milk that I can.
I think I'd be leery, though about getting milk from a stranger without going through a hospital or bank. But, like someone said, if I had the need I, too, would move mountains and do whatever necessary to get my child the best that I could.
