Just back from OB

Baby's head is down and I'm 80%effaced, -2 station, 0 cm dilated.  He was pretty pleased with the progress for 37weeks and some change.  I will say that I take what he says with a grain of salt.  When I was pregnant with DS1, I went in at 39 weeks 80% effaced and 1 cm dilated.  My OB said he'd see me the next week.  Yeah, my water broke two days later and DS was born.  So we'll see if he stays a December baby or tries to break free earlier.

Yup - you never know with these LO's!  MIL was told there was no way she was having a baby anytime soon, and DH came that night.  Meanwhile, my OB told me she'd probably see me before my next app't...  had to be induced at the end!  They like to let you know who is in control from the get go.

Ooh, fun stuff!

 

I hope my LO isn't too late.. I'm already too excited to meet him! I can't believe weekly check ups are coming soon. Yikes!

In my experience, progress means nothing! I went in for my regular weekly OB check at 39 weeks, 2 days and was hardly effaced and not dilated at all...my OB scheduled me for an ultrasound the following week to make sure the baby wasn't getting too large. Yeah, that was at 9am and by 3pm my contractions started and were already 7 minutes apart, I went to the hospital at midnight, and had DS at 1:30pm the next day. So it can all happen in a blink of an eye even when it doesn't seem to be on the horizon!
