question: ladies of have APA (antiphospholipid antibody)

Hey girls!

I was having TTC after my m/c in May. I was recently found out to have APA - antiphospholipid antibody syndrome. I made an appt for an RE in December.

to my surprise I got a BFP this weekend. While Im elated I am also very nervous. I am going to see a maternal fetal doctor next Thursday as per my OBGYN's request.

However, I am nervous that I will be 5 weeks. Is this too late to see the dr. and get on a plan? how soon were you diagnosed & treated?

I've been taking a baby asprin for now.... any thoughts?

Thanks so much
Kelly

Re: question: ladies of have APA (antiphospholipid antibody)

  • First of all, congrats on your exciting news!

I would get ahold of your OBGYN first thing in the morning.  My dr. wanted me on injectible blood thinners (Lovenox) immediately, in addition to the baby aspirin.  He/she can write you a prescription for that if that's what you need, and then you can still get in with the maternal fetal doctor next week.  Both of my losses prior to my diagnosis were early, so I wouldn't want to wait a week.  I'm certainly not saying that to scare you, but they may want to see you immediately like my doctor did!
